DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Su actividad se remonta ya a 90 años de historia. Felip Martín, su abuelo, fue quien empezó con el noble oficio de cantero. Lo siguió posteriormente su padre, Fèlix Martín, y finalmente Feliu Martín. Cabe destacar que los tres obtuvieron en su día la acreditación de la Generalitat de Catalunya de Maestros Artesanos, convirtiéndose así, en la única familia de toda Cataluña con tres miembros de la misma saga reconocidos con dicha distinción. A su vez, Feliu Martín fue el artesano más joven de todos que recibió el título de maestro artesano.Durante muchos años, a parte de su incansable dedicación en el campo de la restauración y asesoramiento, también se han dedicado a la docencia. Su trabajo ha sido motivo de numerosas filmaciones y reportajes por los principales canales de TV de todo el mundo (a nivel nacional TV1, TV2, TV3, a nivel internacional, TV2 francesa, RAI italiana, TV canadiense, National Geographic, BBC inglesa, TV japonesa, etc).En la actualidad trabajan para mantener el proceso artesanal, ayudado en las fases de desbaste con la tecnología más moderna, a través de la maquinaria de CNC. Ese equilibrio les ha permitido contribuir durante más de 14 años y de una forma ininterrumpida a la construcción del templo de la Sagrada Familia de Barcelona, donde la compleja geometría aplicada a la piedra del genial arquitecto Antoni GAUDÍ les ha convertido en una empresa referente en ese maravilloso campo gaudiniano, en donde las formas cónicas (parábolas, hipérbolas, sinusoides, helicoides…) hacen necesaria una formación artesana «de oficio», compaginada con la aportación de la informática en el campo tecnológico. Solamente el equilibrio entre artesanía y tecnología les ha permitido «vivir», eso sí; teniendo siempre muy claro donde empieza una cosa y termina la otra.

APRENDIZAJE

La formación siempre fue empírica; transmitida de generación en generación, con buenos Maestros en la propia familia. Además es constante y aún no ha finalizado puesto que siguen surgiendo nuevos retos que resolver y actividades de las que aprender. Además, Feliu tuvo que profundizar en el campo informático, geométrico, ya que la compleja geometría de GAUDÍ así lo requería.

DOCENCIA

Muchos fueron los años en que compaginando con los trabajos de restauración de patrimonio y construcción, tuvieron escuelas-taller;
-En el año 1992 ejercen de monitores en el taller (Félix y Feliu) en unas jornadas dedicadas a la escultura con alumnos de la escuela de arte Waldorf de Ottersberg y de Stuttgart (Alemania)
-Entre los años 1992-1994 participan en tareas de formación de futuros canteros en la escuela taller “El Francolí” (cursos subvencionados por el instituto nacional de empleo)
-El 1994 participan en EXPOCULTURA de Barcelona, exponiendo parte de su obra y haciendo demostraciones y técnicas del oficio in situ.
-Entre los años 1994 y 1998 Feliu Martin imparte cursos de aprendizaje del oficio de cantero y técnicas de corte de la piedra en la escuela “Centre Aramunt” (prestigiosa escuela de formación profesional en el pirineo catalán)
-En los años 1995, 1996 y 1997 forma a futuros canteros en la escuela “picapedrers de la Garrigues” (subvencionada por la Generalitat de Cataluña)
-En 2002 participa como representante de Cataluña en el encuentro internacional de canteros en Dresden (Alemania del este), donde toma parte en la restauración de la Frauenkirche, de esta Ciudad.
-En el año 2000 empieza a trabajar en el Templo de la Sagrada Familia de Barcelona donde, durante 16 años dirige el taller de los canteros. En el propio Templo y a través de la “Escola Gaudí” de la construcción impartí durante los años 2004 y 2005 cursos para alumnos de las escuelas italianas de Florencia y Arezzo (formazione senza frontiere) y París (les compagnons du tour de France). En éstos se impartieron técnicas de perfeccionamiento del trabajo en piedra y la aplicación gaudiniana a la misma.
