DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Agustín Aguirre se establece como artesano en 2002, desde entonces trabaja fundamentalmente el vidrio artístico, utilizando diferentes técnicas, tales como tiffany y emplomado. Utiliza vidrios nacionales y de importación, así como, botellas y envases de vidrio reciclado.Emplomado: es la técnica empleada desde la antigüedad en la fabricación de vidrieras para catedrales e iglesias. Más adelante se usó para crear vidrieras de menor tamaño para decorar ventanas y puertas de viviendas. Se crean a partir de vidrios de colores o pintados a grisalla y se unen usando un perfil de plomo y masilla. Con el tiempo el plomo se va deteriorando, sobre todo por el peso, siendo necesaria su restauración. En este taller se realizan nuevas vidrieras y se restauran aquellas que se hayan deteriorado.Grisalla: Es el arte de pintar el vidrio usando óxidos metálicos. Es una técnica muy empleada en las vidrieras de catedrales e iglesias para crear las figuras, rostros, paisajes… Actualmente también se usa sobre todo en restauraciones.Tiffany: Es la técnica creada por Louis Comfort Tiffany, en la que se usa vidrio de colores para crear diferentes objetos artísticos. A diferencia del emplomado, se unen mediante cintas de cobre y soldaduras de estaño. Con esta técnica realizan vidrieras, lámparas, objetos de decoración, etc. Los cristales empleados varían desde el vidrio transparente de ventana hasta el vidrio Spectrum en una amplia gama de colores.
DOCENCIA
Agustín imparte cursos de vidrio artístico y taracea. Además, realiza demostraciones en directo de su trabajo en su tienda.
TRABAJOS DESTACADOS
Ha realizado exposiciones tanto a nivel nacional como internacional (Japón, Milán, Bruselas, Estocolmo, Estrasburgo …).
