DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Íñigo Trápaga trabaja la carpintería de armar, realizando tejados, forjados, entramados, entarimados y muebles a medida. La técnica la heredó de otras dos generaciones anteriores de carpinteros. Por otro lado, el acceso a internet le ha permitido ampliar conocimientos, especialmente de técnicas americanas y anglosajonas.Realiza trabajos totalmente artesanales, utilizando tanto maquinaria eléctrica como herramientas manuales para los ensambles: diferentes formones, cepillos de mano y mazas. La finalidad de utilizar la herramienta de mano es que permite un mejor ajuste de los empalmes y ensambles, casi a milímetro. Además utiliza otras herramientas como escuadras, reglas, plomada o sierras japonesas. Trabaja un amplio abanico de tipos de maderas: laminado, roble, ciprés rojo, cedro, castaño, fresno, acacia.Las uniones que emplea son siempre las tradicionales de carpintería de armar, como, por ejemplo, la de caja y espiga o la cola de milano. Para la base de los pilares, utiliza poyales, que une a la madera haciendo una caja en la piedra y una espiga en la madera.

APRENDIZAJE

Aprendió de su padre, Agustín, y éste a su vez de su padre, también Agustín, que colaboró con la Holtza, antigua gran empresa de laminados. También se formó en el Centro de Oficios de León y ha adquirido formación complementaria gracias a la lectura de libros y cursos propios de Autocad y SketchUp. Aún trabaja en el taller familiar.
