DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Alicia Guerrero realiza, además de otros encargos, cuidadas restituciones de piezas en trabajos de restauración.El proceso de elaboración comienza con el diseño de las piezas. Una vez está definido, se aplica la técnica más adecuada. Las más habituales son:-Cuerda seca: de origen andalusí, ésta técnica consiste en separar los esmaltes de diferentes colores con una línea pintada a mano. Se preparan los esmaltes de cuerda seca mezclando óxidos de colores con esmaltes blanco y transparente. A ésta mezcla se le agrega agua y se tamiza para facilitar la aplicación, que se realiza con una perilla. Una vez esmaltada la pieza se procede a la limpieza de cantos y parte inferior.-Óxidos colorantes sobre cubierta: la decoración con óxidos o pigmentos sobre el esmalte antes de cocer, es muy utilizada en cerámica desde el siglo XIV. El proceso de ésta técnica comienza con el baño de esmalte de la pieza a decorar.Tras realizar la limpieza de cantos y parte inferior, la pieza está lista para ser decorada. Para decorar las piezas hemos preparado previamente los pigmentos de colores, añadiéndoles el fundente y el agua que necesitan en la proporción adecuada. En este momento la destreza y habilidad del ceramista coloca cada pincelada en su lugar, ya que la cerámica no permite corrección sobre lo trabajado.
Finalmente, en ambas técnicas el proceso termina con la cocción. Las piezas se introducen en el horno en casilleros de material refractario. Se realiza la cocción durante siete horas, hasta alcanzar 980ºC. El enfriamiento debe ser lento si se quieren evitar roturas y fisuras en las piezas. La cocción a 980ºC asegura la calidad, durabilidad y resistencia de todos nuestros trabajos.
