DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Antonio Bel trabaja en la albañilería tradicional, concretamente en la fabricación de adobes y en la realización de muros con adobe.La tierra que utiliza es local y sabe dónde encontrarla en la zona. Hace tiempo lo hacía él mismo y hoy en día lo hace únicamente para partidas pequeñas. Sin embargo, actualmente compensa por lo general ir a una cantera y emplear las tierras que ellas tengan disponibles. Tras analizarlas, realiza las mezclas más óptimas dosificándolas en función de su naturaleza. Los otros materiales que intervienen en la mezcla son el agua y la paja.Una vez amasada la mezcla y conformados los bloques, se dejan secar unos días, máximo una semana. Tras el secado, están listos para ponerlos en obra, recibidos con morteros de tierra (generalmente la misma) y a veces con mortero de cal.Una vez finalizado el muro, puede revocarse o no, dependiendo del tipo de obra: si es un edificio con uso agrario, normalmente no se revoca o se hace solamente en la fachada oeste, ya que es la más expuesta a la climatología. Aún así, se degrada lentamente, aunque su durabilidad es mayor de lo que comúnmente se piensa: bien realizado, en 100 años pierde unos 3 cm.
