DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Christian Marne realiza todo tipo de trabajos de cantería, desde cantería base, hasta bóvedas, crucería y trabajos de estereotomía.Gran parte de su trabajo se desarrolla en el ámbito de la restauración, modelado, vaciado, reconstrucción y montaje de edificios históricos… Además, hace escultura en piedra, sobre todo por la técnica de talla directa, aunque también domina la técnica de puntos y el uso de compases para ampliaciones.En la escultura en piedra y en la labra es un gran defensor de las herramientas manuales de corte, ya que evitan que al material muchas microfisuras por golpeo, pudiendo dar los mismos acabados manuales a posteriori sin que el material sufra tanto.Aboga, sin embargo, por la utilización de acetatos y derivados plásticos (transparentes a poder ser) para la realización de plantillas enfocadas a trabajos de labra y montaje, como molduras, crucería, etc., sustituyendo a las plantillas tradicionales, realizadas en materiales como cartones, maderas o metal.Organiza exhibiciones y demostraciones de oficios tradicionales en ferias, encuentros y eventos culturales, además de simposios, encuentros y concursos de escultura.

APRENDIZAJE

Su formación y aprendizaje se desarrollaron en centros de formación y en talleres de cantería, en especial en la Escuela Superior de Arte de Oviedo, con los Maestros Fernando Alba y José Ángel Nava, entre otros, y en el Centro de Los Oficios de León, con los Maestros Pedro García Primo, Miguel Sobrino y Enrique Rabasa, entre otros. En cuanto a los talleres en los que se ha formado, destacan los siguientes: Asturiana de talla, el Maestro Cantero Jordi Martí (Lleida), Escapelino Trabajos en Piedra (León) y Canteros del Principado (Asturias).
