DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

La familia ceramista de Blas Alemán lleva más de dos siglos moldeando el barro que elabora manualmente con las tierras que extraen de sus propias canteras, para darle esas formas y texturas tan peculiares con empeño y dedicación.En un principio sólo fabricaban tejas árabes y ladrillos para pilares, para más tarde dar paso a la infinidad de piezas que actualmente fabrican para todo tipo de obras y decoraciones, sin variar ni un ápice, eso sí, la forma en que sus antepasados lo hacían y que generación tras generación han ido aprendiendo y poniendo en práctica.Cuentan con unas inmejorables instalaciones, zonas amplias donde las piezas se secan de forma natural. Siguen utilizando moldes de madera para fabricar ladrillos, baldosas, tejas y piezas especiales. Todas ellas se cuecen a 990 º C y es precisamente ese proceso de cocción y fabricación lo que da ese aspecto tan singular. Han introducido mejoras en la utilización de arcillas, en la cocción y en la terminación de las piezas, pero siempre sin variar la forma en que se fabrican manualmente una a una. Utilizan laboratorios especializados para realizar pruebas a sus productos (dureza, absorción, heladicidad, resistencia, etc.) y así garantizar su calidad.Sus materiales se utilizan tanto en nuevas obras como para la mejora y rehabilitación de edificios antiguos y emblemáticos, así como cualquier construcción que por el paso de los años e incluso siglos necesite ser rehabilitada.

APRENDIZAJE

Este oficio artesano ha pasado de padres a hijos desde hace varias generaciones.Desde pequeños aprenden el oficio, las técnicas y todo lo necesario para realizar sus trabajos.
