DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Las estructuras que crean, especialmente para viviendas, hacen las hacen más eficientes energéticamente a través del estudio del entorno y de las necesidades de cada cliente. Sólo usan madera, en estructuras con ensambles tradicionales, dejando de lado los herrajes metálicos.
A medida que van trabajando el oficio tradicional, se les presentan cada vez más peticiones de personas que quieren hacer una vivienda completa, por lo que colaboran cada vez más con otros oficios tradicionales. Realizan, entre otras actividades, entramados pesados sin herrajes metálicos, estructuras “timber frame”, ensamblando las piezas entre sí con ensambles tradicionales y japoneses (caja espiga, medio talón, rayo de júpiter…), sin usar herrajes metálicos, sólo ajustando las piezas de forma manual con formón y cepillo.

Luis Méndez, el maestro carpintero, enseña en la propia empresa la mejor forma de hacer según su propio bagaje y todo lo aprendido en la Escuela de Oficios de León sobre carpintería de armar española, entre otros.
