DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Realizan y decoran cualquier diseño en cerámica, ya sea propio o a petición del cliente, de forma exclusiva.En su fábrica se reciben las materias primas, es decir, los bizcochos de barro cocido a 1040 grados, los esmaltes y los colores de una amplia variedad y calidad. Una vez recibido, se procesa manualmente como se ha hecho tradicionalmente desde los siglos XIV y XV. Esta técnica consiste en esmaltar con una fina capa de esmalte y decorar con colores sobre ella. Desde hace 30 años Cerámica Artística Hermanos. Brenes trabaja en el perfeccionamiento de esta técnica para lograr diseños únicos y totalmente elaborados a mano. El proceso se realiza sin incluir mecanización alguna, desde la entrada del material hasta su salida una vez acabado el producto. Todo es realizado y decorado a mano.Su especialidad es el azulejo de diferentes medidas para decorarlo y utilizarlo como revestimiento. No obstante, también realizan otras piezas como balaustradas, fuentes, etc. Han elaborado zócalos para viviendas y patios; cenefas para baños y cocinas; blancos esmaltados a mano; fachadas de viviendas; balaustradas de diseño propio; fuentes ornamentales; escaleras, con tabicas a medida; restauración de piezas antiguas; murales, y retablos cerámicos, entre otros.

APRENDIZAJE

El oficio lo aprendieron desde abajo, es decir, trabajando como aprendices en otros talleres y perfeccionando las técnicas aprendidas con el paso de los años.

DOCENCIA

Son múltiples las escuelas taller de cerámica que han confiado en Cerámicas Hermanos Brenes para hacer las prácticas de cursos impartidos para los alumnos.
