DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

La empresa San Ginés está especializada en cerámica decorativa y en azulejería para proyectos arquitectónicos.Nació en Talavera de la Reina en 1999 y su gerente es Mónica García del Pino, bisnieta de Juan Ruiz de Luna, el artífice del renacer de la cerámica talaverana a principios del siglo XX y en cuyo honor se levantó el museo de la ciudad que lleva su nombre.La empresa respeta la tradición local tanto en la técnica como en la utilización de sus elementos decorativos característicos, pero ha aportado una gran innovación al sector a través del estudio. Esta línea de trabajo les ha permitido ampliar el uso de la cerámica hacia nuevas aplicaciones, de acuerdo con las exigencias de la vida actual, y formar parte de proyectos de investigación promovidos por diferentes organismos.Cerámica San Ginés es colaborador del Departamento de Mineralogía Aplicada de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha y ha formado parte del proyecto D. Artes para la incorporación del diseño al sector artesanal de la Fundación Española para la Innovación de la Artesanía.Acumula una gran experiencia en la realización de proyectos de azulejería para fachadas e interiores de locales, pero también ha sido destacada su presencia en el campo decorativo a pequeña escala. La Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha seleccionó a Cerámica San Ginés para realizar el regalo institucional con motivo del enlace de los Príncipes de Asturias, consistente en una vajilla pintada a mano de estilo renacentista.En 2009 se alzó con el Premio Regional del Diseño Aplicado a la Artesanía por su proyecto “La Gorrinucha”. En abril de 2010 Cerámica San Ginés recibe el Premio Ciudad de Talavera a la Promoción de la Identidad Local y Comarcal, en reconocimiento por la realización del mural cerámico pintado a mano más grande del mundo. En el mismo año es nombrada Empresa del Año 2010 por la Federación Empresarial Toledana. Cerámica San Ginés obtiene el Premio Nacional de Artesanía como mejor producto artesano de 2010 por el Mural del Centro de Convenciones de Orán. El jurado valoró “la asunción de un proyecto de tal envergadura y el éxito en su realización, en la que ha demostrado, además de la elevada calidad técnica, una gran capacidad de innovación tanto del propio producto y los procesos productivos, como en la organización y comunicación”.

TRABAJOS DESTACADOS
Entre sus principales hitos está la dirección técnica de la restauración del Teatro Victoria de Talavera de la Reina y la realización de murales para establecimientos privados e instituciones públicas, como la Embajada de Estados Unidos en Madrid.En 2016 Cerámica San Ginés culmina otro gran trabajo internacional decorando con azulejería tradicional Bazaar Mar, el nuevo restaurante del chef español José Andrés en Miami, plasmando en las paredes del local un concepto del diseñador Philippe Starck.
