DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

Producción de elementos de construcción tradicionales, tanto para reemplazar otros deteriorados como para nuevas obras. El proceso de elaboración comienza por extraer el barro de la cantera o barrero. Éste es escogido por las manos expertas del alfarero. Ya en el alfar, se mezcla con agua, hasta crear una masa homogénea y espesa, tamizándola para que quede libre de impurezas.Se deja reposar en grandes balsas y por medio de la decantación se extrae el agua sobrante.Pasado un tiempo se comienza a utilizarlo, sacando pequeñas cantidades que se pasan al tendal, lo que consiste en extender el barro aguado sobre una manta de ladrillos, con la finalidad de que estos absorban el agua y el barro quede listo para ser amasado.
Se amasa de una manera firme y constante hasta conseguir una masa homogénea y compacta: es ésta la primera vez que el alfarero toma contacto directo con el barro y empieza a mimarlo.Acabado el proceso de amasado se pasa al torno o modelado. A partir de este momento, sólo unas manos expertas serán capaces de dar vida al barro.Culmina en el horno su proceso, donde el alfarero todavía tendrá otra posibilidad de, jugando con la temperatura, obtener diferentes acabados.
