DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

En su actividad en cerrajería y forja artística desarrolla desde trabajos orientados a la construcción, hasta el mobiliario y ornamentación, pasando por la escultura, restauración y el diseño de las piezas.Realiza trabajos de rejas, verjas, cancelas, barandas de escalera de caracol, celosías, balcones y balconadas, ojos de buey, cúpulas, brocales para pozos, etcétera. También incluye la restauración de piezas deterioradas. Cuida el diseño de las piezas, respetando las ideas del cliente y asesorando sobre el trabajo.Proceso:– Diseño de boceto de la pieza sobre soporte de papel. Seguidamente se da paso a desarrollarla a tamaño real en papel o chapa, según el trabajo y el material a emplear. Para trabajos en chapa de hierro, de latón o de cobre, se dibuja sobre el mismo material con lápiz de cera o con punta de trazar. Si el trabajo es repetitivo se procede a elaborar una plantilla la cual sirve de guía para marcar el material con una punta de trazar ya que salen las líneas más ajustadas y se economiza tiempo de ejecución de la obra.– El siguiente paso es el cortado del material que se puede realizar según el trabajo, con tijera manual, cortafríos, tijera eléctrica, sierra, o con prensa manual haciendo en este caso previamente una matriz de corte.– Le sigue dar forma al material que, dependiendo el material utilizado, se deberá calentar o no para su transformación por medio de repujado, tallado (utilizando cinceles), o embutición y estampación; en estos casos hay que hacer previamente una matriz de estampar (estampas).– Para la unión de las piezas se puede utilizar; remache, soldadura con acetileno, soldadura por caldeo (calentar las piezas en fragua hasta el punto de fusión y uniéndolas mediante la presión al martillear sobre ellas con rapidez). La soldadura se puede pulir mediante limas o fresas.– La terminación y protección de la pieza puede ser oxidación natural a la intemperie, pavonado, algunas lacas o esmaltes y la otra oxidación para la cual no utiliza oxidación química, sino escayola en polvo que aplica sobre la pieza y la humedece para, seguidamente, envolverla en plástico y dejar que actúe la humedad y el calcio unos días sobre la pieza; transcurridos éstos, pulveriza agua sobre la pieza y esparce el óxido creado con un estropajo y vuelve a envolverla en plástico. Así se repite la operación hasta conseguir el tono deseado. Una vez conseguido el tono se protege la pieza con cera de parqué, para evitar su progresiva corrosión.– Tras el proceso de cortado el material se lleva a la fragua donde se calentará al punto óptimo para su modelado, tallado, estirado, estampado, o soldado por calda. La herramienta a utilizar irá acorde con el trabajo a realizar: (yunque, martillo, martillo pilón, prensa, estampas, tornillos para sujetar la pieza, cinceles, botador, horquillas, garrote, moldes para dar forma, distintos tipos de tenazas, etc.). Las uniones se harán mediante machihembrado, remache, abrazaderas, espigas, soldadura por calda o soldadura eléctrica.

APRENDIZAJE

Su aprendizaje comienza tras los estudios primarios de educación general básica, en un taller de la localidad de Hinojosa del Duque bajo la dirección del maestro y propietario del taller D. Baldomero Gil Acedo, en el verano de 1978. Tras la jubilación del maestro entra a formar parte de la comunidad de bienes «RUMOVI» formada por los obreros del taller. En 1990 sus inquietudes le llevan a abandonar la comunidad para instalarse por cuenta propia, en su propio taller «FERROS-VIANA» hasta la presente fecha.En el año 2010 obtiene la carta de artesano con el nº 1401008 en el registro de artesanos de Andalucía.El 17 de Enero de 2012 es declarado maestro artesano por la Consejería de Comercio, Turismo y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía.

DOCENCIA

Entre 1995 y 2003 han pasado por su taller varios aprendices a los que ha intentado transmitir la vocación por la forja.
