APRENDIZAJE

Julio Servera Viedma se adentró en el mundo de la artesanía de forma casual, pues fue un capricho de su madre. Ella le pidió a un escultor en piedra que elaborara un mortero decorativo, muy típico en la cultura mallorquina. El escultor le dijo que, si quería uno, que fuera su hijo y lo hiciera él. Y así fue. De esta anécdota hace ya 34 años.El escultor que inició a Julio era conocido como Guillem “Xiscas” y tardó tan sólo medio año en explicarle cómo debía hacerlo, a partir de aquí Julio aprendió de forma autodidacta. Cinceles, punteros, gubias,… se convirtieron en extensiones de sus manos.
TRABAJOS DESTACADOS
Cabe destacar los trabajos para el ayuntamiento de Porreres, pues se le encargó la reconstrucción de un pozo emblemático y del escudo heráldico de la ciudad, que puede verse en el parque municipal. También la restauración de varios edificios emblemáticos de la isla. Un edificio destacable por la calidad y belleza del resultado es la Escribanía de Porreres, donde ha llevado a cabo una completa restauración de arcos, bóvedas y la reconstrucción de una pared exterior con una puerta y ventana.
