DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

El maestro artesano Laureano Rueda es especialista en el enlucido con barro, así como en construcción con adobe. Las técnicas que utiliza son las tradicionales, comenzando por el pisado del barro, el reposado del mismo, la fabricación de los adobes con las adoberas (también llamadas marcales o macales), su posterior secado al sol, y la construcción con estos ladrillos de barro crudo, utilizando como mortero la propia arcilla. En esta labor apenas introduce maquinaria alguna, salvo el uso en contadas ocasiones de hormigonera, que facilita el amasado de la arcilla. En cuanto al enlucido de paramentos, utiliza la misma técnica tradicional sin la incorporación de ninguna actualización.En la construcción en tapial su experiencia ha sido menor. Sin embargo, sí se ha introducido diversas actualizaciones para facilitar la obra, como el uso del encofrado con chapa metálica, en lugar del tradicional tablero de madera. Además, ha sustituido el pisón manual por otro tipo de herramientas eléctricas: ranas o martillos neumáticos.Los trabajos que ha realizado son fundamentalmente la restauración de edificios de adobe o tapial, tales como palomares, talleres y hornos. También ha realizado trabajos en interiores para realizar enlucidos en bodegas, bibliotecas en viviendas particulares, portalones o zaguanes.El trabajo de Laureano se caracteriza por ser sumamente respetuoso con las técnicas tradicionales y por mantener y recuperar un tipo de arquitectura que, pese a formar parte de nuestro patrimonio, ha sido especialmente abandonado.

APRENDIZAJE

No ha tenido un maestro concreto, sino la experiencia de estudiar la tradición de su alrededor y el aprendizaje de las técnicas de los mayores de la zona en la que vive.

DOCENCIA

Ha impartido dos cursos de verano organizados por el Centro de los Oficios de León. En ellos participaron especialistas tales como como arquitectos o constructores tradicionales. En estos cursos se levantó una construcción en tapial y se fabricó un horno con adobe. También ha participado en la Feria de Artesanía de El Val de San Lorenzo (León), y en las Jornadas Medievales de Briones (La Rioja). En ambas se trató de llevar a cabo talleres demostrativos y participativos de amasado del barro y fabricación de diferentes tipos de adobe.
