DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

La empresa J. M.Bonet se dedica a la restauración y conservación de vidrieras así como a la realización de vidrieras nuevas. Trabaja también en la realización de vidrios gravados. Fue fundada por J. M.Bonet en 1923 y desde entonces ha transmitido de generación en generación, y de maestro a maestro, manteniendo un escrupuloso respeto por las técnicas y métodos tradicionales, así como un interés constante en el desarrollo de nuevos procedimientos.Luard Bonet es heredero de la tradición de artesanos vidrieros de Barcelona. No sólo es la tercera generación de maestros vidrieros del taller, sino que el mismo taller es la memoria viva de una forma de trabajar el vidrio que, especialmente en Barcelona, creó y crea un patrimonio de vidrieras de fama mundial.El taller J. M. Bonet, donde se formó y trabaja, forma a sus artesanos en varios procedimientos artísticos en vidrio. El fundador del taller, su abuelo, aprendió el oficio en el célebre taller Oriach. Éste, a su vez, fue fruto de una escisión del taller Amigó, que se creó por parte de artesanos que trabajaron en el taller Ravella, estirpe de pintores de vidrieras del siglo XVIII. El conocimiento de Luard Bonet y el del resto de artesanos del taller es derivado directamente de esta ancestral enseñanza de maestro a aprendiz.Como artista, Luard Bonet desarrolla proyectos basados en los contrastes de los colores y los materiales puros. El vidrio es quizás el material capaz de ofrecer las coloraciones más ricas e intensas. Por ello, utiliza pocas piezas, colores y materiales escogidos concienzudamente, a menudo viajando especialmente al taller del artesano soplador de vidrio para elegir las planchas de material una a una.Como artesano y depositario de la tradición de este oficio, conoce y prevé los desafíos de los nuevos proyectos a los que ha de hacer frente, ya sea en la reproducción de intrincados diseños modernistas o en las tareas de construir vidrieras para otros artistas.Luard ha trabajado con Perico Pastor, Tano Pisano, Marta Blasco, Ricard Chiang, Andrea Ortega, Joan Vila-Grau, Toni Vila, y otros, siendo el consejero y asesor que encuentra el camino del proyecto del artista al objeto final en vidrio.

APRENDIZAJE

Luard aprende el oficio por herencia familiar y completa su formación en la Escuela Llotja de Barcelona, con el título de Artes Aplicadas al Muro. Actualmente combina su trabajo en el taller con los estudios de Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Barcelona.
TRABAJOS DESTACADOS
Creación de vidrieras para el templo, centrado en la cultura española, de la empresa Daiwa Saiken. El boceto inicial representa una cascada, donde se inscriben textos en español alusivos a la família. Luard Bonet proyectó el boceto inicial y trabajó en todas las etapas de la construcción del proyecto.Construcción de las vidrieras para la nave, el triforio y las escaleras de la Sagrada Familia, del artista Joan Vila Grau.
