Se formó con varios Maestros teitadores: Dositeo de Cantejeira, Ramón de Campo del Agua y Manolo de Chan de Villar, aunque también fue fundamental para su aprendizaje el compartir experiencias con los teitadores de Piornedo.En el trabajo en madera es autodidacta.
