DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD REALIZADA

En este taller se realizan vidrieras artísticas realizadas con vidrios de importación, realizados con diferentes técnicas y colores. Su producción se basa en las técnicas tradicionales, tales como el emplomado o la conocida como Tiffany, conservando el procedimiento, los medios, los materiales y las herramientas de siempre.En cualquiera de los casos los pasos que siguen son semejantes. Comienzan con el diseño previo presentado al cliente, basándose bien en la idea que él ofrece o bien en ideas propias, y después lo dibujan a tamaño real. Este dibujo ya sería la plantilla, donde se visualiza mejor y se pueden elegir los vidrios. El siguiente paso es cortar las piezas de vidrio calcándolas del dibujo. Acto seguido, se emploma o se utiliza el cobre, según la técnica a emplear, y se sueldan los puntos de intersección en el caso del plomo y el cordón de estaño en el caso del cobre. En las vidrieras emplomadas se utiliza una masilla para que las piezas queden bien unidas al plomo.Realizan también la pintura sobre vidrio, mediante esmaltes y grisallas, fundiéndolos con el propio vidrio en el horno a 650º. Este sistema les permite fabricar vidrieras de dibujos realistas, alcanzando matices que con el propio vidrio no se consiguen. Las imágenes habituales en las vidrieras de Catedrales o Iglesias son buen ejemplo de este procedimientoLa restauración de vidrieras consiste en conservar en todo lo posible las partes de la vidriera que están en mejor estado, sustituyendo el emplomado, si es necesario, y utilizando plomos de rotura o resinas en huecos para conservar las piezas de vidrio pintadas de gran valor.Una vidriera puede ser instalada en cualquier hueco: ventanas, puertas, lucernarios, falsos huecos con luz artificial, etc. Constituye una parte importante en la decoración de casas particulares, locales comerciales, restaurantes, cafeterías, edificios públicos…, además de aquella que se coloca comúnmente en edificios de culto.

APRENDIZAJE

Oficio aprendido con Maestros Vidrieros de la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de León durante tres años de formación y dos años de prácticas.
Además, ha recibido cursos de pintura sobre vidrio y restauración de vidriera en la Escuela de La Granja, en Segovia, y otros cursos complementarios de seguridad e higiene, protección de datos, telemática, informática y diseño gráfico, entre otros.
TRABAJOS DESTACADOS
Han realizado trabajos de restauración en el Palacio de Capriotti (Ávila) y en la Catedral, el Palacio de Montarco y el Convento de las Úrsulas (Salamanca), además de otras vidrieras particulares.Han realizado vidrieras nuevas para la Catedral de Ávila, la de Salamanca y la de Ciudad Rodrigo; el Convento de La Purísima, el Museo Casa Lis (Salamanca), el Colegio de Alba De Tormes, la Abadía de los Templarios (La Alberca, Salamanca) y el Palacio Carrascalino, entre otros trabajos en restaurantes y viviendas.
